New room for Em

I wanted to make a better place for Em that would not look so bad in my living room.  I looked at several options and finally settled on this Lucidium Pen (I purchased it a Amazon it comes in 4 colors and 3 sizes).  While the playpen that we had was really nice, and was very good for her when she was little, I felt she needed a little more space and I wanted her to be able to have a place that was her own that she could clearly see everyone else.  We use Em's play area when we are not home, to sleep in and anytime we have a need to keep her confined due to guests or projects that we are doing and do not want to take any chances with her safety.  It is still very visible in the living room but it is mainly clear with the silver posts.  This playpen is also larger than her previous area.  I can actually walk into it where as I could not with the previous type.  I also wanted it to be comfy and warm for her.  I purchased a toddler bean bag chair  along with the little heart pillow (from JC Penny). I took some of the stuffing out of the chair so that she could get in easier, I also purchased a faux fur blanket for her (again from JC Penny).  Under it all I put a office chair mat that I purchased from staples.  This gives me a waterproof bottom in case of accidents or spills that won't ruin my carpet.  Under her blanket I keep a heating pad so if Em get's cold she can go over there to curl up.  Now that she has her new room she goes in and out throughout the day where she really didn't go in her other playpen as I would not always unzip it for her to have access. Grooming Table

I recently got this grooming table.  It is really helpful as it moves.  Instead of moving the baby you just turn the table.  It also helps to keep the baby where you want her.  It comes with the loop, you really do not need to purchase anything else.  It is also small enough that you can easily move it.  I purchased this on Amazon.

Grooming tools set

I just got the scissor set and really love them.  The quality is really good, they are all metal.  The thinning scissors are particularly useful for thinning out the face.  Again I got them on Amazon.  

Slicker Brush

So  I thought all you needed was a regular brush but I was wrong.  A slicker brush is a must.  I had a hard time finding something that was small enough for Em.  Until I found this Li'l Pals slicker.  It was just the right size and it worked great.  It easily gets all the tangles and knots out and makes her hair so smooth.  Give it a try.  From Amazon.   Just click on the link to the right to get to the page.  

End Table Crate

We have several crate throughout the house.  I wanted one that looked a bit more like furniture and the door was out of the way.  This crate does just that.  The quality is good and it looks perfect with our furniture.  

Harness

I have seen a lot of people looking for a good harness and thought I would let you know what I use.  We don't like to use a collar due to trachea stress.  I have this in 2 sizes the XS for summer and when Em is not wearing a sweater and the S for when she is wearing a sweater.  I put it over her sweater.

We started Em in a crate but decided that was not safe as she was so small.  We decided on the car seat because it allows her to see out and is easy to move in the car.

We could not live without this play pen.  Em loves it.  She sleeps in here and stays in here when we are not home or able to supervise her.  We even have 2 of them.
